PATIENT INSTRUCTIONS
- The specimen is best obtained at the beginning of the day prior to showering or taking a bath.
- You will be given a slide carrier containing a glass slide (labelled with your name and DOB) with a piece of cellotape attached.
- Peel the cellotape off the prepared slide.
- Spread the anal folds apart and apply the sticky side of the clear cellotape to the anus.
- Peel the tape off carefully and press the tape sticky side down onto the glass slide.
- Place the slide specimen into the slide carrier and ensure it is closed securely.
- Return the specimen with the request form to the Collection Centre on the same day for transport to the laboratory.
