In this period of increased demand for swabs for COVID-19 testing, there may be a requirement to substitute the Citotest swabs that are currently supplied. An additional/alternative swab type will be distributed to medical centres in orders processed from today.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The Copan swabs were distributed pre-pandemic for the collection of samples for viral PCR. Note also that while the packaging states the swabs can be used for Virus, Chlamydia, Mycoplasma and ureaplasma, this is not the case for testing at Labtests. These swabs are not compatible with the technology used for STI testing by Labtests.
