Dr Osipov completed his medicine studies at the Pavlov Medical University, St Petersburg, Russia. This was followed by a pathology residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin and a surgical pathology Fellowship with special emphasis in bone and soft tissue pathology and gastrointestinal pathology at the Mayo Clinic, Minnesota, USA. Vladimir has joined Labtests from the faculty of the Medical College of Wisconsin, USA where he has been an Assistant Professor of Pathology since 2004. He also has a part time position as an anatomical pathologist at LabPlus, Auckland City Hospital.

Vladimir's speciality interest areas are dermatopathology, gastrointestinal and orthopaedic Pathology. Dr Osipov is a Fellow of the College of American Pathologists and of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia.
