Dr Kirker is a graduate of the University of Otago Medical School. He did his pathology training in Auckland and then worked as a senior pathology registrar at St Mary's hospital in London. After returning to New Zealand, Jim held pathologist positions at Southland Hospital, Cook Hospital in Gisborne, and National Women's Hospital. Prior to joining Labtests, he worked at Diagnostic Medlab for eight years. Dr Kirker has a specialty interest in gynaecological pathology. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologist of Australasia.
