Faeces For Culture Tests

The following instructions are for patients attending a Faeces For Culture Test.

• Collect a faeces specimen (bowel motion the size of a walnut) and transfer into the container provided.
• The sample can be passed into a separate clean container, or firstly onto paper (in the toilet bowl) and then scraped into the specimen container using the scoop which forms part of the lid.
• Write your surname, first name, date of birth, sample number (if more than one sample is requested) and date and time of collection on the container.
• Return the specimen to a Labtests Collection Centre as soon as possible.
