Journey Of A Test

Labtests processes thousands of test specimens every day, and it’s important that each test gets the right results, to the right people, as quickly and securely as possible.  As quality and confidentiality are paramount in importance, we have developed a streamlined process to handle test specimens.

A typical test specimen is collected at our Collection Centres, delivered by Labtests' own couriers to the specimen reception centre in our laboratory, processed, verified, interpreted, and the results sent (usually) electronically to your health professional. Full tracking of your test specimen is in place from collection through to results. 

To allow you to more easily visualise our process, we provide an image showing the typical Journey of a Cholesterol Test (PDF, 456Kb).  Many of our tests follow a similar process.
